Introduction to Navigation Weekend -Brecon Beacons (12th - 13th April 2025)
Join us for a 2 day Mountain navigation course in the Brecon Beacons .
Ideal for novices, you’ll learn essential navigation skills that will support you to plan and enjoy your own hill and mountain routes in the UK.
We’ll cover:
Navigation tools and tactics
Map orientation
Symbols and Features
Contours
Measuring distance
Timing and pacing
Compass bearings
Relocation
Planning, Weather and staying safe in the British hills.
We will be journeying through the hills on both days of this course at a relaxed place to allow maximum opportunity for practice and development. Therefore, you do not need to be ‘super fit’, but you should be prepared for some hills and equipped to be out in the elements for 5-7 hours a day.
